The Art of Posing - Ladies, how to look slimmer and get great pictures!

Great pictures very seldom happen accidentally. Well, sometimes they do but the chances are slim to none. Speaking of slim, did you know that some poses can make you look up to 10 pounds skinnier? Its true ladies and its time that someone revealed the secret.

We look at posing as a form of art. Sure some people are naturally better at it but the rest of us may need a little work. That’s why we created a posing tutorial we like to call The Art of Posing 101.Registration begins now, so grab a pen, take notes and get ready to strike a pose!

Lesson 1: When standing turn partially sideways towards the camera, planting one foot in front of the other. Point your toe to the camera and plant your weight on the back foot. This pose is designed to accent your curves while concealing those oh too common problem areas.

Lesson 2: Hold arms slightly away from your body. This keeps upper arm flab from flattening out and appearing larger than life.

Lesson 3: Pull head forward slightly to minimize any appearance of a double chin.

Lesson 4: Pull shoulders back, chest forward and gently suck stomach in. Be careful not to suck stomach so far in that your ribs show, giving all the critics a chance to say “she’s sucking it in”

Lesson 5: The look away trick. To do this, look away from the camera, then turn towards it, breaking into a smile just before the camera clicks. Your smile will appear fresh, not frozen. This trick takes practice behind closed, locked doors.

Lesson 6: The other look away trick. During a photo shoot do not look directly into the camera. Look left, look right, glance back at the camera, look up, look down and bring it back to the camera. This will create a candid effect. You will look natural and relaxed instead of staged and rehearsed.

Lesson 7: It’s all about the props! Use objects you are holding to your advantage by placing them in front of parts of you you’d prefer to hide.A purse or corsage in front of your belly.

Lesson 8: Learn to love the modern Spanx hosiery or the traditional corset. These two truly are girls best friends! They suck in and push up in all the right places.

Lesson 9: Find your best side. In this imperfect world we strive so hard to be perfect, truth is we’re just not built to be perfectly symmetrical creatures. Therefore, everyone has a better side. So how do you find yours? Practice, practice, practice, the mirror is not in a rush.

Lesson 10: Feel like a million bucks! Go ahead get your nails done, curl your hair, do your make up. When you look good, you feel good and lets face it confidence is the best accessory! Congratulations, you have successfully completed The Art of Posing 101!With these helpful tips and a little practice, you will rock your next photo shoot!

Good Morning

Good morning everyone! I must appologize for not getting posts done as often as I should. Since we returned from our cruise, we have both had the flu and colds that really put us behind. Things are looking up now and I have been getting a lot of work done that wasn't finished before Christmas.

Brenda has been booking weddings for this year and I have been planning some other photo shoots with various models at home and in the US. We're really looking forward to heading south again for the WPPI Trade Show in Vegas this year.

I will keep everyone updated on what's new and keep checking as I will be getting some new pics up.

Blog Update

I must apologize for not posting anything since we got home. Unfortunately both Brenda and I came down with the flu last week and neither of us has been in much shape to do anything. I'm starting to feel better than Brenda right now and I will be adding some more pictures of our trip so keep checking back.

We're back!!!

Yes, we are back....well almost. Right now we are back in Fort Lauderdale where the weather is beautiful!!! We have just returned from a cruise of the Caribbean. It was a very busy trip and we made a lot of great business contacts! Yes a working holiday...isn't it great! The only bad thing was the weather. Almost everyday at sea we had gale force winds of 60 - 75 mph (100 - 125 kph) with waves of 12 - 20 feet. We will be home tomorrow night and I have some pics for you that I will add to in the next few days.

Here is our ship in Fort Lauderdale, the Coral Princess. 1970 passengers and 900 crew.

This wave was about 15 feet high and yes the ship rocked and rolled even with the stabilizers that are built into the ship.

One of our stops was Panama. Here is our ship entering the locks that lead to Gatun Lake.

Here are two ships that followed us through the locks. There is only 2 feet of space between the side of the ship and the walls of the locks.

While touring the canal we found these white faced monkeys. They came on board of our boat and we found they love banana bread! Go figure. They are very friendly if you don't try to touch them.
