Remember everyone, tomorrow is November 11th, a time for us all to remember those Canadians that served their country and continue to serve our country in past and present conflicts. Thank you Veterans.

Just a little family history. My great grandfather's, John Newman, and George Smith. Both served in the 49th Battalion, (Loyal Edmonton Regiment) in World War I. John Newman was a rifleman and George Smith was a medical corpsman.

Pte. John Edward Newman

Killed in Action October 8, 1916 during the Battle of the Somme

Pte. George Smith

The image below was taken by a combat cameraman who was filming the action during the Battle of the Somme. He caught my great grandfather Smith carrying a wounded comrade in the trenches.
