It was great seeing Jenna and the crew again at our favorite dolphin watching tour, Dolphin Excursions in Waianae! Once again we were not disappointed as not only did we see the spinner dolphins but we also saw bottlenose dolphins and a humpback whale. Can't wait to go out again! Ka'ena Point
We took the long hot hike to Ka'ena Point today. On the hike there we counted over 20 Humpback Whales swimming along the coast. At the point we saw lots of Laysan Albatrosses nesting. There were only two Monk seals at the point and we later saw two others swimming nearby.
Looking at the north shore from the point.
Looking at the west coast from the point.
By the early afternoon the waves were already in the 15-20 ft range.
What you find when your lost
While driving in an area we were unfamiliar with looking for a spot for sunset photo's, we rounded a curve along a dead end road and ended up at the gate to Dog the Bounty Hunter's home!
Hawaiian Monk Seal
While walking along the beach in a secluded area trying to find a spot for sunset pictures, we were told of a Hawaiian Monk Seal that was sleeping not far from where we were. I feel extremely fortunate to have been able to watch and photograph this rare seal for over 2 hours. It didn't do much other than sleep during that time.
